在3×01中，Stella Gibson终于逮捕了Paul Spector，但他却被嫉妒心重的James Tyler开枪射伤，贝尔法斯特总医院的O’Donnell医生、Sheridan护士和医护团队必须全力以赴抢救他的性命。与此同时，这起枪击案成了媒体报道的焦点，上级对Gibson处理该案的做法表示质疑，Gibson必须尽快给Spector定罪。同时Spector年轻的帮凶Katie计划营救他。
