香港著名骗子黄大千（许冠杰 饰）骗术高超，几十年来凭借狡黠的智慧暴敛钱财。被骗者虽为贪心或疏忽使然，却无不捶胸顿足，后悔莫及。人送绰号“笨蛋”的光头神探（麦嘉 饰）二十年来与黄大千斗智斗勇，大玩猫鼠游戏，可惜这只笨猫总也斗不过狡猾的老鼠。
居住在香港的少女吴宝苍（容祖儿 饰）的父亲被黄大千所骗，几度欲跳楼了解此生。宝苍从警方处了解到黄大千已经逃到新加坡，于是起身前去追踪。在这里她碰巧遇见了曾被人骗财骗情于是转而骗人的富家子弟法拉利（谢霆锋 饰）以及呆头呆脑的私人侦探助理施笙紫（苏有朋 饰）。三个年轻人决定联手打败行踪诡异的黄大千……
