现实中，有白人警察射杀了黑人而引起莫大的社会争议，而FOX预订以此事件为基础的事件剧，这剧由《爱情和篮球 Love & Basketball》的Gina Prince-Bythewood及《嘻哈帝国 Empire》的Brian Grazer所主创。
